Needing a lot more of this!

KINDNESS. Good word, but why is this the word that was offered to me for this week’s blog?

I went to the Thesaurus to see the words that are offered as synonyms for KINDNESS,  and then I checked out the antonyms:

Animosity        Hatred        Hostility        Indecency        Intolerance        Cruelty

Ah, now I get it — aren’t these the very words and messages that are showing up in the headlines on my phone? This is the energy is being propagated globally, and right now there is an overabundance of this negative energy throughout the world.

Doesn’t it make sense that somehow, some way we’ve got to balance out this negative energy. No wonder we needs a focus in our lives on KINDNESS.

Here are some synonyms I found for kindness:

Patience        Humanity        Generosity        Compassion        Good Turn

Do you want to have a part in changing the world? Of course you do. Don’t we all? Let’s think about what this means for a minute before answering the question.

Change is an inside job. In Mahatma Gandhi’s words, “you must be the change you want to see in the world.” If I am serious about this I need to tune in and feel the energy that is vibrating within me – for me. Is there KINDNESS coming from me to me? Is the KINDNESS that comes from me and goes into the world authentic and real, and not just an act that will allow me to tell myself I am a nice person?

So I checked inside — took inventory. I encourage you to do the same. I found a few surprises that didn’t feel at all KIND. Those headlines on my phone cultivating negativity could be said to be a magnifying mirror for some of my inner meanness. It doesn’t feel good, but becoming conscious does feel good because I can then choose to make changes to be more KIND to me.

I need and I want more kindness coming from me to me in my life. How about you?

Here is my invitation to you and to me: Let’s be conscious and vigilant of what’s going on inside of us. Pay attention to our feelings. Let’s listen to what we’re saying to ourselves, and clean up every bit of unkindness we’re generating.

This I know — when the energy of self-love and KINDNESS are vibrating inside of us – KINDNESS going out into our world is the natural by-product. This is how we change the world!

How very true! And it must begin with being kind to one’s self. I did see another quote which struck me: “How would your week have been different if you did everything with love and kindness?” -Tina Nies. I would change this slightly to read: “”How would your life be different if you did everything with love and kindness?”
